Great Range, Pathetic Leadership

First off, I am a Life Member of the Del Norte Club. I have been a member, in some capacity, for fourteen years. I enjoy the variety of shooting opportunities and variety of ranges at the club. That is where my appreciation of the club ends! The leadership of the club is anything but what someone would expect! The current president of the club, and the board of directors, fail to grasp the basics of leadership with regards to the club, its' volunteers and members. That is that leadership is not a position, a title or words. It is defined by actions and the example set. Last week, I found myself being harassed by a person I found was a Range Safety Officer (RSO) at Del Norte (volunteer position). He neither was wearing his position of rank nor identified himself when he approached me. I knew who he was from a previous encounter, which I had mistakenly failed to report to Del Norte Leadership. I brought this recent encounter to the attention of the Del Norte President. She knew exactly who I was speaking about, due to a pattern of complaints about this RSO. I told her that I expected action(s) to be taken, and she assured me that action(s) would happen. To the date of this posting, I have not heard a thing. For the record, I'm a retired Marine Corps Officer and current DOD/DOS Contractor. I know what right looks like on a range, and the actions by the RSO and the Del Norte President are anything but! They are in direct contravention to the Del Norte Range Rules and Member Code of Conduct. The RSO at Del Norte is an accident waiting to happen, and the Del Norte President will also be a responsible party when this occurs.
