CZ - Ceska Zbrojovka LogoČeská zbrojovka a.s. Uherský Brod is a known Czech manufacturer of guns. It was founded on June 27, 1936 by Karel Bubla and Alois Tomiska. ČZUB was established as a branch of an armament firm called Česká zbrojovka in Morovia in the current Czech Republic. After WW II, a central agency managed all firearms manufacturers in the country. They were all ordered to brand all firearms for export with BRNO that is why a large number of ČZUB firearms have the said markings.

ČZUB is into the development and production of pistols, rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, grenade launcher, and precise components for aircraft and automobile engines. At the height of the Cold War ČZUB produced small rifles for the military such as the submachine gun Škorpion vz. 61, Sa vz. 58 assault rifle, and the CZ 75 line of pistols.

Firearms manufacturers were decentralized in 1991 which in turn gave the company the opportunity to do business as a free market establishment. The company progressed into a private company in 1992. This propelled ČZUB’s presence into the global market as it supplies small firearms in over 6o countries.

In 1991 the Czech weapons factories were "de-centralized" and began business as free market companies. In 1992, Česká zbrojovka a.s.(PLC), Uherský Brod became private, moving into the free world economy and eventually establishing a small arms presence in over 60 countries. In 1997 ČZUB founded CZ-USA, retailing in small arms for the military and police forces as well as recreational and sporting firearms.

Some of its notable firearms are: ČZ pistol, caliber 7.65 mm, Model LK 38 pistol, 9 mm caliber; small borne rifles Model 244, CZ 452; bigbore rifles CZ 550; military rifles CZ 805 BREN A1/A2 and submachine gun CZ SCORPION EVO 3 A1 (9×19mm Parabellum).
