Kahr - Firearms

Founded in 1995 by Kook Jin Moon, the son of the South Korean Unification Church’s founder Sun Myung Moon, Kahr Arms is an American small arms manufacturer which specializes in the production of compact and mid-sized semi-automatic pistols.  Said to be an award-winning company for their handguns, Kahr Arms has consistently produced among the best quality and well designed carry guns.  In fact, the Kahr K9 is considered by New York City police officers as the best back-up weapon for them.  This is due to the fact that Kahr Arms’ specialty is the small but potent pistol, one that can fire eight (8) or fewer bullets that are relatively large like 9mm and .40 calibers.  As such, they can be easily concealed within one’s person and is a popular choice for a defensive firearm.

Among its pistols are the Kahr K9, P9 with Night Sights, TP45, PM45 and P40.  Kahr Arms also sells parts and accessories for its firearms, which include holsters, bags, case and tools, grips, sights, magazines, magazine pouches, leather gun belts, gun maintenance, and guide rods and barrels.  Kahr Arms also manufactures accessories specifically for women like pink gun skins, hide-it holsters, belt-slide holsters and bra-clip holsters.  Kahr Arms also have an “economy” line of its products which are generally the same except for a lack of luxury features from which costs are slashed, these pistols generally sell for less than 20% to 30% of the full featured versions.

Kahr Arms pistols have been featured in use in a number of feature films among which are Shaft, 15 Minutes, The Brave One, Gone Baby Gone, and most recently The Taking of Pelham 123.  This popularity can be attributed to many factors surrounding the pistols produced by Kahr Arms. They are generally small but powerful, and their craftsmanship and performance have consistently garnered them praise from numerous firearm publications like Combat Handguns Magazine and Soldier of Fortune.  Add to that the fact that the cost relative to the quality of the pistol is top notch and you have a combination that should compare favorably against other handguns.
